Match v Mapperley Ladies 2013

April 4th was our first match of the year, a Friendly against Mapperley Ladies on a bitterly cold and windy day.
The match was a Greensome Foursome and all our teams were giving a lot of shots so sadly the girls lost 1½ : 2½. The girls enjoyed the matches and played some very good golf in difficult conditions.
Mapperley member Mandy Papwith had a hole in one on the 10th hole - well done, Mandy!
Emily-Jane Golder was Captain of the girls' team for the day and gave an excellent vote of thanks to the Mapperley ladies.
Rebecca Williams, Esme Hamilton, Charlotte Parker, Sarah Riddell, Jacey Peacock, Megan McJannet and Izzy Uren made up the team.

We appreciated the ladies inviting us to Mapperley again this year as the match had to be cancelled twice last year due to the weather!

League Match v Leicestershire 2013

LeagueLeics2013A very good win 4:2 for Notts against Leics in the 1st Team, Scratch League at Greetham Valley on April 21st. This was Rhiannon Linacre's third time playing for the 1st Team so she has won her junior colours - well done Rhiannon for winning your match and getting your colours.

The 2nd Team, playing off handicap, had some tough matches again as they were giving so many shots. Esme was giving 10 shots and both Rebecca and Emma 16 shots! All the team played well and the girls must not be disappointed if they lost their match. The team lost 3:1.

The girls enjoyed having the support of their new mascot!

Junior Girls Captain's Report 2012

RachelB2012 for Notts girls has been another amazing year with retention of the Midland North League title once again. I would like to thank and congratulate all the girls who played in both the scratch and handicap team. I am both proud and glad to have been Notts County Junior Captain in my final year as a junior, after being part of the county girls for such a long time; and play along side so many talented girls. My congratulations and thanks go out to each and every single girl for making my last year such an amazing year and a year fill with so much achievement!

Although we are losing some of our older girls, Notts still have such a strong team I'm sure Emily Lyle our 2013 Captain can lead our team to a third successful win.

I would also like to thank Margaret Brook our Junior Organiser for all the hard work she has done this year and wish her all the best in the years to come.

League Match v Lincolnshire 2013

Leaguelincs2013The girls played their first Midland North Region League Match on Sunday 7th April against Lincs at Ramsdale Park. After a bitterly cold week everyone was relieved to play on a warm and sunny day! The girls played well and enjoyed their matches, some of which were very close.
Notts and Lincs halved the 1st Team Scratch Match.
This year the 2nd Handicap Team matches will not count towards a League as some counties cannot field a team of four girls.
Lincs had two girls available and Notts won one match and lost one match. Sarah Riddell and Rebecca Williams then played a friendly match together.
Well done girls! A good start to the season.
