The Junior second team match against Lincolnshire took place on 2nd June at Beedles Lake Golf Club. The girls played really well and it was a very tight match but Lincs eventually came out on top 3 games to 2. Well done to all of those who played.
The 2021 Girls and Intermediate County Championships were held on Sunday 30th May at Wollaton Park Golf Club. The competitors for the Intermediate Championships, for 18 to 21 year olds, went out first and the winner was Libby Kilbride who is also the current NCLGA County Champion.
The Girls U18 Championship was won by Madeleine Smith with a gross score of 78, and runner-up was Elizabeth Wilson who also won the U14 and U16 Notts Scratch trophies. The Nett Champion was Lexi Williams-Green with a nett 68 and runner up was Millie Marsh. Maddie Smith and Lexi Williams-Green are our qualifiers for the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship. The 9 hole winner was Amelia Nugent and runner-up was Maya Kubba.

This was taken at the end of our second senior squad training session at Norwood park, with PGA professional Richard Strange. It was getting a bit dark by the time we finished but the girls obviously enjoyed it and our new sail flag was still seen flying!
Congratulations to Ava Waplington who received her NCLGA 2nd team award from the County Captain, Helen Haycox.
Wollaton Park Golf Club will be hosting the NCLGA Junior and Intermediate Girls Championships on Sunday May 30th. This is also a qualifying event for the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship. Entry forms for the competition can be downloaded here.

Our first squad training session of 2021 took place in mid April. The girls had a great time and it also gave us the first opportunity to display our new County Girls sail flag!
We are trying, as a county, to encourage more girls to stay in and enjoy the game of golf. Our Squad training is open to all girls, irrelevant of their handicap. We hold our sessions at The Norwood Park Golf Club usually on a Wednesday once a month, with an occasional weekend all day event. Our aim is not to take over the work of the girls personal coach but to add to it. We concentrate on team spirit, match play, rules sessions and of course lots of laughs and fun. From all of this we have a very successful scratch and handicap team that represents Nottinghamshire playing against Lincs, Derbys, Leics, Staffs, Shrops.

The NCLGA Junior Captain for 2021 will be Leonie Muir and her Vice Captain is Madeleine Smith. Congratulations to both of them and we all hope we will be able to get out and play some golf soon.
