Afternoon Tea Celebration for Maureen Clarke
Ladies from the NCLGA had a great get together at Sherwood Forest Golf Club on Sunday the 26th January to help celebrate the 80th birthday of Maureen Clarke our recently retired President. This special event was organised on behalf of the county by Di Payne (County Vice-Captain) and Audrey MacMillan (County Assistant Vice-Captain) – good job ladies!
Sherwood Forest Golf Club served a magnificent afternoon tea and all present had a wonderful afternoon of fellowship. Many of those present enjoyed it so much that it was suggested that perhaps an afternoon tea could become an annual event to get different members of the NCLGA together at the beginning of the year.
Eva Glasby our new President proposed a toast which was followed by all present wishing Maureen a happy birthday in song. Of course, Maureen had some words to share with all and she very kindly presented all who attended with a small gift. It was a wonderful afternoon much enjoyed by all – a real winter warmer on a dull January day which will have given Maureen some lovely memories.
Happy Birthday Maureen and thank you for all your hard work over the years – we look forward to seeing you on the course in 2020 when you are supporting, playing and refereeing.
