County President's Day 2018

County President’s Day 2018 was played at Beeston Fields Golf Club on Monday 8 October to raise funds for the NCLGA County Teams. It was a lovely, warm and sunny Autumnal day and the full field of 100 players enjoyed playing the course which was in excellent condition. The format was a four-ball Stableford Am-Am with 2 scores to count, 90% handicap. There were prizes for the first four teams, nearest the pin on all four short holes, and a putting competition.
A marquee was provided by the local Rotary Club, alongside the 11th Tee, where the players enjoyed a little break to eat delicious cakes and drink soft drinks, and tea, or coffee from china cups. After play, a buffet meal and sweet were enjoyed in the dining-room and raffle tickets were checked. The raffle table was well-laden with prizes provided by competitors and officials. Players were also able to enter a prize draw for a free four-balls at various Golf Clubs around the County.

First Place: Carol Houghton, Helen Haycox, Lesley Morris, and Julia Rose from The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club with a score of 85 – Carol having holed 6 birdie putts
Second Place: Clare Jones, Rosemary Lockwood, Lindsay Carruthers, and Pam Hannam from Beeston Fields Golf Club with a score 83
Third Place: Helen Maber, Karen Gilbert, Sue Jennings and Carol Bancroft from Beeston Fields Golf Club with a score of 82
Fourth Place: Katie White, Jane Baxter, Maria Timson, and Linda Bird from Mapperley Golf Club with a score of 80 – winning on the back 9 with 44 points.
