County President's Day 2017
The Inaugural County President’s Day was played at Sherwood Forest Golf Club on Monday 9 October to raise funds for County Match Week 2018, which is to be hosted by Notts County Ladies’ Golf Association. It was a lovely Autumnal day and the full field of 100 players enjoyed playing the course which was in immaculate condition. The format was a four-ball Stableford Am Am with 2 scores to count, 90% handicap. There were prizes for nearest the pin on all four short holes.
At the half-way house the players enjoyed a little break to eat delicious cakes and drink tea or coffee from china cups. After play, a buffet meal and sweet were enjoyed in the dining-room and raffle tickets were checked. The raffle table was fantastically well-laden with prizes provided by competitors and officials. Players were also able to enter a prize draw for a free four-ball at Sherwood Forest Golf Club and a prize draw for a free four-ball at Notts Golf Club, Hollinwell, as well as take part in the Putting Competition to get the ball nearest to the bottle using the whole length of the practice putting green.
The prize-winners were:-
First Place: Glenys Priestley, Rita Monks, Jo Hopkins, from Notts Golf Club and Vicky Forecast from Springwater with 83 points with a back nine of 43.
Second Place: Kath Els, Julie Revill, Jo Smith and Julia Warrener, from Sherwood Forest Golf Club with 83 points and a back nine of 40.
Third Place: Jean Stones, Wendy Adcock, Tracey Krupa and Ann Gray from Trent Lock Golf Club with 80 points.
Fourth Place: Megan Allen, Charlie Hall, Sue Brownson, and Viv Gibson of Southwell with 79 points.

Nearest the Pin on 10th: Berni Barton, The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club
