County Week - All Supporters Welcome!

Our team will soon be heading off for the annual inter-county competition against Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, Lincolnshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire. Each county takes a turn in hosting the event and this year Derbyshire will be the home county and Matlock Golf Club the venue for the competition, from 26th to 30th June.

We will play a different county each day, three foursomes matches in the morning and six singles each afternoon, with the overall winner being declared at the end of the week and going forward to play in the England Finals in September against the winners of the other five regional competitions.

We have a great squad again this year, a mixture of experienced county players and some talented first-timers: Rachel Boulton, Emily Cheshire, Esme Hamilton, Caron Harrison, Carol Houghton, Emma Howie, Libby Kilbride, Kristina Lazarevic, Emily Lyle, Laura Morris, Lauren Spray and Carol Wild.

In 2015, when County Week was held in Enville, Nottinghamshire won the week and went on to win the England Finals for the very first time in Frilford Heath. In 2016, Nottinghamshire fought hard in Scunthorpe to claim the runner-up position in County Week. We are looking forward to a very exciting competition again this year. County Week provides a wonderful opportunity to see some great golf and we will be delighted to see lots of Nottinghamshire supporters at Matlock – please make a note of the dates and come along to support your team!
