The County Waltz took place on Monday 20th April at Wollaton Park Golf Club. It was glorious weather and everyone enjoyed the course which was in excellent condition and then were well looked after by the bar and catering staff.

 

A full field of 31 teams (93 competitors) took part, representing 13 clubs.

In first place with 78 points was the team from Notts Ladies of Carol Wild, Sharon Coyne and Janet Slater. Closely following in second place with 77 points was the team from Stanton on the Wolds of Louise Spray, Helena McCannah and Sarah Hernon. In third place with 73 points was the team of Colette Newton and Anne Harris both from Notts Ladies and Audrey Blelock from Wollaton Park.

 

The competition is held to raise funds to support the 1st and 2nd teams. It is especially important this year as the 1st team is away at Enville in Staffordshire for 6 days (June 28th to 3rd July) playing the other 5 counties from the Midlands North Region.

Overall a fantastic total of £1445 was raised for the funds. This included £254 from a bottle raffle –thank you for the generous support of this. Special thanks must go to the Wollaton Park members for their courtesy of the course and to their Lady Captain Fran Tunnicliffe who presented the prizes to the winners. Also a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the organisation and overall running of the competition.
