Coronation Cups 2021

The Coronation Cups competition was played at Southwell GC on Thursday 3rd June 2021. We were a small field, but made the most of a beautiful summery day (finally!) at Southwell. This really is a course of two halves, with a stark contrast between the nines, which most of us found challenging. Our winners with an excellent score of 41 points were Margaret Thorpe and Karen Donnelly from Ruddington Grange. Second place went to Jane Tucker and Julia Hatcher from Newark with 39 points, and third with 38 points were Jan Hooley and Pam Musson from Stanton. Just missing out on countback were Riemie Coulson and Marion Wraith from Southwell. Riemie is the Lady Captain of Southwell, and had done a magnificent job as Starter before playing herself, which makes their round all the more impressive!

Our next event is the Summer Meeting and Veterans’ Trophy at Rufford on 5th July, followed by the Captain’s Am-Am at The Nottinghamshire on 15th July. Entries are still being taken for both of these, which are great value as well as good fun - we hope to see many of you there!
